Craigslist Killer Dies

CRAIGSLIST Killer” Philip Markoff, the clean-cut Boston University medical  student accused of killing one woman and robbing another he met via the online site, reportedly committed suicide in his jail cell while awaiting trial, myFOXboston.com reported.
A statement from Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley and Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis said Markoff was found unresponsive inside his Boston prison cell and pronounced dead at 10.17am on Sunday (local time).
“Markoff was alone in his cell and all evidence collected thus far indicates that he took his own life,” the statement said.
Saturday – August 14 – was the same day he and his onetime fiancee, Megan McAllister, had reportedly set for their wedding in 2009. Read full story and more here
April 2009, Markoff, who had been arrested during a traffic stop as he drove to a Connecticut casino, was placed on suicide watch at the jail where he was being held. Newspaper reports said authorities had found shoelace marks on his neck.
