Seven dead in Bhat Gate blast

LAHORE: At least seven people were killed and various others injured in a powerful explosion at Bhati Gate near Kerbala Gamay Shah in a mourning procession, Geo News reported Tuesday.

The injured are being shifted to hospital.

According to eye-witnesses, the blast occurred soon after azan of Maghrib prayer.

Rescue sources said at least 37 people were injured at Lohari Chowk blast that spurred stampede. Some injured people are in critical condition.

Relief teams including Rescue 1122 and ambulances have arrived on the blast site. Police put security cordon around.

Hospital sources said at least 8 people have been rushed to Mayo Hospital.

According to Rescue sources, the blast occurred in a vehicle with government number plate. The vehicle was packed with explosives.

District Emergency Officer Dr Ahmed confirmed the killings of at least seven people.

According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, at least four policemen were killed in the blast.

At least two people were killed and many injured in a blast on Tuesday in Lahore.

The blast occurred near Urdu Bazar Chock as a result two people were killed and many sustained injuries.

Injured were being shifted to the hospital while relief operation is continue at the spot.
